Graduation Portraits Worth the Trip

Nicholas' FSU Photoshoot at Westcott Fountain and Langford Green

This past season, I had the special opportunity to work with Nicholas on a unique and meaningful graduation photoshoot. Unlike most of my grads, Nicholas wasn’t fresh off the stage! He had actually graduated from Florida State University more than a year ago but he never had the chance to commemorate the moment with official photos. So, he made the trip all the way up from Boca Raton to Tallahassee just for this session. An eight-hour drive just to finally capture a milestone he didn’t want to let pass by undocumented! I was honored that he trusted me to capture these images.

Quiet Moments at Westcott Fountain

No surprise, we kicked things off at the ever-iconic Westcott Fountain, a must for any FSU graduation session. Whether you’re a recent grad or returning after some time, the red brick backdrop and flowing fountain instantly evoke all the memories tied to your college years. We started with the classic shots: cap in hand, tassel swaying, the proud stance in front of the fountain that every Seminole grad dreams of. Nicholas booked my Golden Grad Package, which allotted him two campus locations and an hour of shooting time.

Popping Champagne at Langford Green

After wrapping up at Westcott, we made our way over to Langford Green; more specifically, the FSU arching sign for the DevLoe L. Moore University Center. This location was the perfect spot to unveil one of my favorite photography moments, popping champagne! He only had one bottle, but fortunately, we were able to capture the perfect photos of the spray with the beautiful blue sky as our backdrop.

Why Your Graduation Photos Still Matter Even Years Later

Nicholas’ session was a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to honor your achievements. Whether you're graduating this semester or realized a year later that you want to capture the moment after all, your story deserves to be documented!
