Confetti, Champagne, and Family: Ann’s Golden Grad Session at FSU
Ann’s graduation session was filled with golden-hour light, joyful celebration, and heartfelt family moments. Traveling all the way from Jacksonville, Ann brought along her husband and granddaughter to be part of the occasion. This all made the shoot especially memorable.
She booked the Golden Grad Package, which gave us time to explore two of FSU’s most iconic locations: Westcott Fountain and the Unconquered Statue at Doak Campbell Stadium. We kicked things off at Westcott just before sunset. The area was buzzing with fellow graduates, and we had to wait our turn for photos in front of the classic FSU plaque and fountain. But Ann’s patience paid off and we captured timeless cap-and-gown portraits and even managed a few hat toss shots that perfectly captured the excitement of the moment.
As the light softened, we made our way to the Unconquered Statue, where the session took a playful turn. Ann surprised me with confetti cannons; something I hadn’t photographed before! They burst beautifully against the backdrop of the stadium, and she was kind enough to let me keep the extras she didn’t use. We wrapped up with the iconic champagne spray, adding a splash of celebration to the tail end of our session.
Despite a tight timeline and a bit of a crowd, we made every minute count. The final images reflect not only Ann’s achievement but also the warmth, support, and joy her family brought to the day.
